New BMW 3-Series

The New BMW 3-Series Vs. the Mercedes-Benz C-Class

When it comes to a weighty decision like picking your next luxury car here in the greater Colorado Springs area, it's imperative to weigh your options carefully. You want to examine the car's you're most interested in from every angle, and we understand where you're coming from here at Winslow BMW of Colorado Springs. That's why we've taken the liberty of breaking down some of the key differences between one of our most popular new BMW luxury sport sedans, the BMW 3 Series, and its perennial rival, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Take a look under the hood of the new BMW 3 Series and the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and you'll see that with their turbocharged powertrains, they're neck-and-neck on horsepower output, clocking in at 255 horsepower. However, the new BMW 3 Series undoubtedly has the edge on torque, boasting up to 295 pound-feet relative to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class' 273 pound-feet of torque, meaning the former is going to give you quite a bit more off-the-line power than its rival.

One of the most prominent technology features on both the new BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the infotainment interface. For the BMW 3 Series, that's the 8.8-inch standard BMW iDrive infotainment interface, which offers rapid response times, an intuitive design, and plenty of useful amenities for connectivity. As for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class, it comes outfitted with a standard 7-inch COMAND infotainment system which is markedly less responsive and feature-rich than the system on the BMW 3 Series.

Sport sedans are eminently fun to drive, but it's hard to enjoy your time on the road if you don't feel secure. Fortunately, the new BMW 3 Series offers exemplary peace of mind thank to its standard suite of safety and security features, including Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and BMW Assist emergency communications. To get comparable features with the new  Mercedes-Benz C-Class, you'll have to pay extra for its available Driver Assistance Package.
