Three Things to Know and Love About the BMW X7

At Winslow BMW of Colorado Springs, we're big fans of the entire lineup of models from BMW, and we didn't think our favorite carmaker's collection of world-class SUVs could get any better. Then, the BMW X7 was introduced in 2019, and everything changed.

The largest of the SUV lineup, or SAV as BMW calls their X Series family, the BMW X7 is bigger and roomier inside than the X5. Both have a maximum seating capacity of seven people in three rows, but the X7 comes with three rows standard, while the smaller X5 has it optional, with two rows and room for five standard.

If you're looking for a new SUV for your family, don't just settle for any boring crossover. Get the luxury you want, with the space your family needs, with the BMW X7. There's a lot to know, and love about this new model, and we're happy to be your guide.

If you're ready to learn more about the X7, we've got your inside scoop. Here are our top three things we think you should know about this model before you shop:

  1. Cargo space. The BMW X7 is the largest SUV from BMW. As such, drivers can expect useful amounts of cargo space in the rear, with the seats up or folded down. In fact, depending on how you fold the second and third rows, this SUV can hold up to 90.4 cubic feet of gear.
  2. Utility. The BMW X7 is more than just a pretty face. It's also useful in a pinch. If you have a family boat or camper to tow, the X7 is there to help. Equipped with an optional tow hook, this model has a maximum towing capacity of up to 7,500 pounds.
  3. Power. It takes a lot of muscle to tow and haul all that weight, and the BMW X7 has it. Two engines are available here, including a turbocharged six-cylinder and a turbocharged V8. Plus, all-wheel drive is standard across the lineup.
